Was chairman of Ward 3 Republi- can City committee. In 1917 he was elected assistant grand venerable and in 1919, grand venerable of Order Sons of Italy in America, being the only western Mass. man elected to so high office. Was among the early Italian settlers here and the first official Italian inter- preter of Hampden County Courts for 17 years . Was held with high esteem by hundreds of his countrymen, whom he had helped to become useful citizens of our country. Since 1890 he has been successfully engaged in the wholesale and retail liquor business. Has also been importer, broker and building contractor. Married Filomena Profiglio of Springfield, Jan. 22, 1896. Children: Catherine, married to Wheeler Sisk; Vincent, news- paperman; Louise, married to Anthony Netto; William, an outstanding musician, manager of father's business; Grace, married to Paul Otto; John Edward, is serving in U. S. Army as dental technician. Mr. Breglio is char- ter member of Oxford Coutry Club; and of B. P. O. E. Fond of golf and travelling. A former musician and lover of grand opera. Attended public school in his native town and served in the Italian Army Tripolitania War of 1911. Came to America in 1914 settling in Brockton. In business with his brothers, Roberto and Eugenio since 1927. Married Fiorentina Brovida of Brockton, Nov. 9, 1916, a native of Salicetto, Cuneo, Italy. Children: Robert, a baker, is married to Regina Principe of Brockton, has a son, Carlo Robert; Maria, a hair- dresser; Carlo, in U. S. Navy in the Pacific; Alfredo, in the baking busi- ness. All of whom have graduated from Brockton High School. Mr. Brug- noli is member of Order Sons of Italy. Active in civic affairs. Res .: 37 Plymouth St., Brockton.
