Educated here and abroad. Married Joseph Bruno the son of Angelo, a native of Serre di Pernano, Salerno, Italy, who came to America in 1872, pioneer Italian settler from that town in Boston. He was for 40 years, one of the most prominent contractors in Boston, specializing in aqueducts, sewers and tunnels throughout New England. Mrs. Bruno was the first president and co-founder with Mrs. Margherita Musolino of the Italian Women's club of Boston in 1916. Said club, later joined the state, city, and national federations. Served in the Italian Army during World War I, as corporal and fought at Monfalcone, St. Michael, was wounded, prisoner under Austria for 20 months, received meritorious medals for distinguished service. Graduated with honors from High School of Commerce in 1928, (scholarship North American League) ; Boston University pre-medical; Middlesex University School of Medicine and Surgery in 1933, M.D. (magna cum laude). Was leader of his class during his last three years. Interne at Washington Casualty Hospital, Washington, D. C. In general practice in Worcester since 1935. Now officer in U. S. Army medical corps. Married Aurora D'Argenis, sister of Dr. D'Argenis of Worcester. Children: Louise Ann and Robert David. Member: National, State, and Worcester Medical Asso- ciations; Order Sons of Italy; K. In the service of Papalia & Co., of Wor- cester since 1937. Married Emma Molinari of Worcester, Nov. 8, 1937, (a graduate of Fairchild Business College). One daughter, Barbara Marie, born March 25, 1939. Member: Hilchrist Country Club, Italian American Defense Comm., the K. C., and Beato Angelo Society. Was member of varsity football team. His father was born in Pozzuoli, Naples, Italy, where he was member of the Royal Guard. Came to America in 1904. Had the following children: Raffaela, married to Henry Williams; Charles Louis, a physician; Jerry William; Joseph T., U. S. Army; May, married to Thomas Robo; Mary Jane, in U. S. Marines. BUONO, PELLEGRINO (PETER)-Pioneer Italian American of Boston in the field of butter and eggs, 241 North St., Boston. Born Luogosano, Avellino, Italy, Oct. 14, 1892. Son of Joseph Buono and Maria Rosa Cac- caviello. Brought to America in 1898 settling in Boston. Educated in the public schools. In business since 1920. Formerly a salesman for C. R. Noyes, leading fruit and producers of Boston. Served in the U. S. Navy during World War I, at experimental station in New London, Conn., where he was instructor in boxing. Mr. Buono has been the New England light weight boxing champion of New England and sparring partner for Samuel Langford. Married Theresa DiAngelis of Boston. One daughter, Irene Rose. Member of K. of C., and past commander of American Legion, North end post No. 53. His father came to America in the late 80's, settling in Boston.
