Proprietor of D'Aversa Tailor Shop for ladies and gentlemen of 427 State St., Springfield since 1926. Married the late Antonetta Lombardi in 1908. Children: Luisa (married to Ermindo Calabrese, proprietor of X Cafe of Springfield; Ida and Michelangelo. Married second time to Josephine Napolitano, a native of San Giorgio, Italy, March 18, 1931. One son, Philip Leonard-a graduate of Technical High School, attending New York University. In the service of Siegels Shoe Store of Boston since 1936. Formerly New England lightweight champion boxer and semi-professional baseball player for 12 years. Served in World War I, U. S. Navy, as athletic instructor. Married Jane Sandar of London, Eng- land. One son, the late Joseph De Angelis, a graduate of Everett High School and student of Harvard Medical School. Aviation cadet of World War II, was assigned to Pensacola, where he finished his training as navy aviator. Was killed in Pensacola, Florida when two training planes collided while flying near the field, Sept. 20, 1943. Mr. De Angelis' father was a native of Chiusano, Avellino, Italy. In general practice in Lawrence since 1940. Enlisted in the U. S. Army, May, 1942. Promoted Captain, Sept., 1943, now stationed at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, D. C. He was one of the first medico enlisters from greater Lawrence and the first to suffer wounds, while in battle in the New Guinea area, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for bravery. Married Rita Bronder of Methuen, a former public school teacher. Dr. De Cesare is member of national, state and local medical associations; the Italian College Club, etc. His father, a native of Marzano Appio, Naples, Italy, came to America in 1893, was among the pioneer Italian American settlers of Lawrence. Graduated: Lawrence High in 1915, and Tufts College Medical School in 1920, M.D. Interne at Lawrence General Hospital. Special studies in clinics in Germany, France, and England. In general practice in Lawrence since 1921. Served in U. S. Army World Was I as Lieut. in the medical corps. Founded the Clover Hill Hospital in 1923, where he is surgeon-in-chief, Lawrence Public School phy- sician; examiner of local draft board No. 79, selective service; Fellow in the American and Mass. Medical Assn's., past president Greater Lawrence Medical Association. Member: N. E. Gynecological and Obstetrical So- ciety; Lawrence Medical Club; Aesculopian Club; Rotary Club; Italian American W. Came to America in 1893, was among the pioneer Italian American settlers of Lawrence, where he engaged in foreign banking. He took deep interest in the welfare of his countrymen and was promoter of every worthy cause. Had the following children: Nicandro F., Mrs. Laura Caldarone, Supt. of Clover Hill Hospital; Anthony W., Armand E., of Buffalo, N. Y., Supervisor at Curtis Wright; Ada E., is secretary of Clover Hill Hospital; Rose, married to Dr. George L. Lenatre; Lena, public school teacher in Methuen; Frank, physician, now Captain in U. S. DE CESARE, VICTOR E .- Proprietor-New York Beauty Salon, 246 Boston St., Dorchester. Born Nocera Superiore, Salerno, Italy, Nov. 11, 1896. Son of Omia De Cesare and Maria Angrisani. Educated in the public schools of Bologna, Italy. Came to U. S. A. in 1923. Learned the art of beautician in New York City. In business in Dorchester since 1935. Mar- ried Lucia De Bonis of Roccapiemonte, Salerno, Italy, July 5, 1922. Mr. De Cesare is member of Hesperia Lodge A. F. & A. M. and all masonic degrees up to the Shrines, including the Aleppo Temple and Eastern Star Reliance, Chapter 62 of So. Boston. Fond of traveling, art and music. Served in World War I. Was awarded Croix de Guerre and other medals. His father, also a native of Nocera, Italy, came to America in 1904. Res .: 246 Boston St., Dorchester.
