Mr. Lakemarsin is the most out- standing American of Italian descent in the history of the Revere Lodge of Elks, having been past exalted ruler in 1912, chairman of the board of trustees since 1913 and district deputy in 1932. Deeply interested in civic affairs and always ready to contribute his services to every worthy cause. His father was born in Genoa, Italy. Created a musical comedy production, which was the talk from coast to coast and travelled throughout United States, Havana, Cuba and Europe, with B. F. Keith, Pantagions, and Orpheum Circuitts. Entered the automotive field in 1929 becoming the largest Chevrolet distributor in Southern New England. Member: Commer- cial Club of Brockton; Kiwanis Club; Elks; Chamber of Commerce; Proxy director of Brockton National Bank; Publicity chairman local Red Cross drives; Bond drives, etc .; former entertaining chairman at service men center; on planning committee of General Motors; past pres. General Motors Club of Boston; on staff of General Motors War man power; and member of O. D. T. Panel. Active in civic affairs and takes deep interest in every worthy cause. Mrs. Lanfranchi was the 13th president of Women's Italian Club of Boston an association which is affili- ated with the city, state and national federations. It was her lot to be the acting pres. of the club at the outbreak of World War II for wo years, thus coming in contact with many ranking personalities in national and military field. LANGONE, GINA (Mme.)-Founder and director, Venetian Art Linen and Monogram Co., 420 Boylston St., Boston. Born Venice, Italy, June 26, 1883. Daughter of Luigi Finati and Anna Franceschini. Came to U. S. in 1909 settling in Boston. Married John Langone of Boston in 1917. Two children: Aldo (captain in U. S. Army Signal Corps) and Marcella (mar- ried to John Biggio of Stoneham). Mrs. Langone is considered among the most outstanding in the field of needlework, having created over 1000 orig- inal designs for fancy linens. Awarded gold and silver medals at the Rome Fair of 1923. Active in civic and social affairs. Among the original or- ganizers of Columbus Women's Republican Club. Director of Mass. Division Drive American Relief for Italy, and member of advisory Board of New York, now working on rehabilitation program for Italy. In this worthy work, she is greatly assisted by her husband and by Trusiana Scire of E. Boston. Mrs. Langone is the author of two plays: "Fisherman's Luck" and "After the Tempest." Son of Francesco Langone and Colomba Pan- dolfo. Served in Italian Army (first class sharp shooter division). Came to America in 1904 settling in Springfield. In business since 1906. Married Angelina Bruno of Atena, Italy, Nov. 26, 1903. Children: Cono James (salesman), married to Louise Adelchi; Theresa, married to Domenick Gen- tile; Anthony, vice president and treasurer of James P. Langone, Inc., mar- ried to Marion B. Julian; Frank J., clerk in above Co., married to Margaret Lyons; Michael, a graduate of Classical High, director of the Co., married to Mary Paglia; John, a salesman, married to Helen Mayotte; Louis, a grad- uate of High School of Commerce, connected with the business-married to Lola Cassoli, serving in U. S. Navy; and Cora, secretary of the business. Mr. Langone is member of San Ciro Society. Res .: 22 Tyler St., Springfield.


LANGONE, JOSEPH A .- Proprietor, Langone Jr. Funeral Home, 41 Haverhill St., Boston. Born Boston, Sept. 18, 1895. Son of late Joseph Langone and Luisa D'Ambrogna. In the funeral business since 1927. Mar- ried, Feb. 28, 1912, Clementina Langone (a former member of Mass. Elec- toral College for Roosevelt 1932-36-40, and secretary to Electoral College in Washington). Children: Louisa, Joseph, Madeline, Frederick (officer U. S. Army), William (student Annapolis Military Academy), and Rita. Mr. Langone has contributed largely to civic and social affairs of the state, having been the second Italo American to hold seat in Mass. Senate, 1932-40. Father, born in Massa Cornova, Potenza, Italy, came to America in 1873, settling in Boston. Was a rigger and helped build Boston Courthouse and State House. Was member of Mass. House of Representatives, 1923-24, and
