Educated in the public schools of his native town. Mr. Dragone fought with Italian Army at Tripoli, Africa. Served in World War I and fought at Monte Santo and at Monte Capuccio, where he was wounded. Was awarded medal for bravery. Came to America in 1920 settling in Boston, where he worked for Vincent Savarese and Son. In the cheese mfg. business since 1927. Married Rosa Marchio of Cerva, Italy, May 24, 1914. DRAGONE, RUDOLPH S .- Master of transportataion. Born in Gesu- aldo, Avellino, Italy, Nov. 20, 1903. Son of Antonio Dragone and Eleonora Rossi. Graduated from Everett High School in 1922. In the service of the Boston Navy Yard since Feb. 1, 1926, in charge of cranes, locomotives, trucks, and all passenger equipments. Married Louise Dorothy Lyons of Malden in 1925, a graduate of Malden High School. One son Allen, born April 20, 1926 a graduate of Malden High, is in U. S. Navy Radio Tech- nician School. Mr. Dragone is past sachem in the Red Men. Fond of out- door life, baseball, football and travel. His father who came to U. S. in 1906 settled in Boston, later in Everett where he has been a prominent busi- nessman and the first American of Italian extraction to become assessor and to serve as welfare commissioner. Was barber for 18 years. Since 1922 has been in the beverage business and distributor of Pepsi-Cola, Valentine, etc. Married Maria Car- mela Petrillo of Wakefield Oct. 12, 1906. Educated in the public schools of his native town. Came to U. S. in 1903, settling in Melrose. In the contracting business since 1907. Married Laura Palladino of Mansfield, May 9, 1908. Children: Alfred T., graduate Melrose High, and attended Mass. Institute of Technology, veteran U. S. Navy in the Pacific, is in the building con- tractor's business; and Louis Philip, graduate Melrose High and Mass. College of Pharmacy (registered pharmacist) is Lieutenant in U. S. Army medical corps, overseas. Mr. Drinkwater, who's name is a translation from the Italian (Bevilacqua) has a brother, Ciriaco, in Revere, and a sister, Maria Grazia, married to Celestino Bevilacqua of Roslindale.

EAST BOSTON TIMES-(weekly newspaper) was founded in Sept. 1938 by George DeMayo, John P. Torrone, Charles Tarbi and Frank Tarbi, all of East Boston of Italian extraction. First edition of the paper was published in the basement of George DeMayo's home, 228 Maverick St., East Boston, in four standard size pages. Later the editorial moved to 124 Marion St. Their present location is at 9 Central Sq., East Boston. Carmen Caruso, presently associated with Station WBZ, was the first employee of East Boston Times. He later left the editorial staff to devote his time to radio news broadcasting in various radio stations in Boston. The East Boston Times is today the 12th leading newspaper in Boston, with controlled circulation of over 11,000. George DeMayo, first member of editorial staff to enter U. S. Armed Forces, World War II, was followed by Frank Tarbi, who later became associated with editorial staff of "Stars and Stripes," in Naples, Italy. John Torrone and Charles Tarbi remained with East Boston Times during the War, sponsoring worthy causes for final victory.

Came to America in 1900 settling in Philadelphia, Pa. Attended public schools in Italy. Here graduated from Mitchell Croonberg School of Designing. Mr. Ermilio moved to Worcester in 1915, where he began in banking and foreign exchange business under the name of Laraia- Ermilio and has since been engaged in that field. Married Catherine Maria Laraia of Worcester, June 25, 1917, daughter of Gennaro Laraia, partner in above firm who came to U. S. A. in 1878, was among pioneer Italian Amer- ican settlers of Worcester. Children: Carmelina, graduate of North High School and of Boston University, associated with her father in banking busi- ness; Rose Marie, graduate of North High School and of Lasell Jr. College of Auburndale; Gloria Catherine, graduate of North High School and of Lasell Jr. College; and Francis, graduate of North High School. Invented the Scalatype sys- tem for use in composing dept. in 1943. Member: American Legion, News- paper Post. Fond of baseball, travelling, painting and music. Married Jennie Greco of Roslindale, Oct. 28, 1928. Children: Rosalie and Patricia. Father, born in Naples, Italy. Was connected with "Il Corriere di Napoli." Educated at Aquino Seminary and served in the Italian Army during World War I, as first lieutenant in the artillery. Awarded Croix de Guerre and other medals for distinguished service. Came to Amer- ica in 1923, settling in New York. Learned the art of tailoring here and abroad. Worked at Roxie Clothing and since 1937 with the Yale Clothing Co. of Springfield. Fond of all sports and lover of travelling and grand opera. Mr. Evangelista has the following brothers and sisters in Italy: Alfredo, Angelina, Giulio, Elvira, Gina. Active in civic affairs. His father was born in vicinity of Rome, Italy, came to U. S. in 1892, settling in Boston, later in Everett, where he engaged as cabinet maker. Had following eleven children: late Joseph and late Louis, both served in U. S. Army, World War I, in Europe, they died later as result from wounds received in action in the service of our country; other children living are: Henry, Paul, Arthur, Edward, Irene, Anna, May (married to Albert Ward), Mary (married to Henry Anzalone) and Josephine, married to Walter Scasciotti.
