PEZZINI, ROBERT-Born Renazzo, Ferrara, Italy, July 20, 1881. Son of Vincenzo Pezzini and Melania Soati. Came to America in 1891, set- tling in Springfield, where he was the first Italian American to graduate from Classical High School. In the service of West Springfield Coopera- tive Bank as teller and as real estate manager since 1929. Formerly in fruit, insurance and real estate business. Married Mary Grandi of Ply- mouth, June 14, 1906. She was born in Renazzo Ferrara, Italy, Aug. 14, 1881. Mr. Pezzini is member of Dante Club. Was for 15 years member of West Springfield Board of Health. A former member of Finance Com- mittee of the town and member of Republican Town Committee. Active in civic affairs and in welfare work. His father came to America in 1889, settled in Springfield, where he engaged in fruit business for 40 years. Had following children: Robert; Oreste a, veteran of World War I, of Springfield; Maria, married to late Dr. C. W. King of Boston; and Emma, married to Henry W. Bryant of W. Springfield. PIANCENTINI, CHESTER - Born San Giovanni Incarico, Frosinone, Italy, Feb. 5, 1902. Attended public school in his native town, and served

in the Italian Army. Came to U. S. in 1923, settling in Hyde Park, where he has since been in the service of B. F. Sturtevant Co., in the sheet metal department. Married Santina Pincheri of his native town, Sept. 19, 1926. Children: Elizabeth, Henry, Robert, and Chester Jr. Member: Order Sons of Italy and charter member of Italian American Citizens' Club. His wife Santina, is the daughter of John Pincheri, a native of Pontecorvo, Italy, who came to U. S. in 1905, settling in Hyde Park. Has the following children: Mrs. Santina Piacentini; Rocco Paul, a veteran U. S. Navy; Mrs. Josephine Alimenti; and John Paul. Res .: 136 Child St., Hyde Park.


PIANCA, MARGARET ANASTASIA-Teacher of French and German. Born Bavena, Lago Maggiore, Italy, July 5, 1887. Daughter of Giacomo Pianca and Ernestina Pattoni. Came to America in 1894, settling in Milford, Mass. Graduated from Milford High School in 1908 and studied in Switzerland, Italy, Berlin and Paris. Tutored in New York. Teacher at Milford High School since 1913. Has travelled extensively in Europe 30 times. Deeply interested in civic and welfare movements. Her father was a native of Bra, Piemonte, Italy. Came to America in 1884, was among the pioneer Italian settlers of Milford, where he engaged as granite worker. Had the following children: late John; Gentile; Hugo; Margaret A .; and Alvin, a graduate of Milford High and Dartmouth Col- lege, took graduate work at Harvard and University of Porto Rico, is professor of Spanish at Dartmouth College. PIANTEDOSI, SALVATORE - Proprietor, Piantedosi Baking Co., 79 Main St., Everett. Born Pietrastornina, Avellino, Italy, Dec. 24, 1893. Son of Carmine and Pellegrina Piantedosi. Educated in public schools of his native town. Came to America in 1912, settling in Everett. In busi- ness since 1916, specializing in pizza, pastry, wedding and birthday cakes to order. Member: Sons of Italy in America, Italo Balbo Club, St. An- thony Society. Fond of all sports, travelling and music. Married Maria Abruzese of Boston, Aug. 15, 1920. Children: Carmine, in business with his father; Joseph, a graduate of Everett High School, now in U. S. Army Air Corps; and John, a graduate of Everett High School, now in U. S. Marine Corps.
