GIOVANNIELLO, ANGELO-Born Anzano, Foggia, Italy, Aug. 15, 1895. Son of Emilio Giovanniello and Filomena Marcella. Educated in public schools of Anzano. Came to America in 1912, returned to Italy in 1915, where he served in the Italian Army during World War I and fought at Mt. Salemma, Mt. St. Michael, Caporetto, Trentino etc. Wounded three times, received the distinguished Croix de Guerre, the international medal. Married Nicolina Popolo of Anzano, Italy, Nov. 20, 1919. Children: Mrs. Patricia Grzyboski, and Anthony Carmelo, student of St. Francis Seraphic Seminary of Lowell, Mass. Returned to America in 1920 settling in Boston, where he has been in the service of Boston Elevator Co. Member: Work- men's Benefit Fund Society and Santa Maria di Anzano Society. Fond of baseball, hunting, travelling, art and music. His father came to America in 1896 settling in Boston. Had following five children: Rocco, Angelo, Carmine, Maria and Saveria. GIOVANNIELLO, VINCENZO-President, Liberty Baking Co., Inc. of Brockton. Born Petruro, Avellino, Italy, Nov. 2, 1895. Son of Domenico Giovanniello and Angelica Capozzi. Attended public school in his native town. Came to America Oct. 16, 1913, settling in Brockton. In business since 1925. Married Antonina Purificato of Brockton July 3, 1920, a native of Villa Santa Lucia, Aquila, Italy. Mr. Giovanniello is member of Order Sons of Italy and former President and Vice President of Artillery Society. Fond of travel and music. Parents were natives of Petruro, Avellino, Italy, had the following children: Vincenzo of this sketch and Virgilio, who was sergeant in Italian Army World War I, is now baker in Brockton. Res .: 35 Plymouth St., Brockton.


GIOVINO, ANTHONY F .- Partner, G. Giovino & Co., wholesalers, gro- ceries, fruit and produce. Commission merchants, 19 Commercial St., Bos- ton. Born East Boston Dec. 15, 1908. Son of Giuseppe Giovino and Luigia Tranvaglia. Graduated: Melrose High and Worcester Academy in 1929. Was member of varsity baseball, football and basketball teams. Attended Brown University for three years. Married Mary De Sisto of Boston Jan. 30, 1944. Member of Brown Alumni Assn. His father was born in Taurasi, Avellino, Italy in 1865. Came to U. S. in the late 70's settling in Boston, where he established above business in 1884 starting in small way, today it is among the largest in Massachusetts, now carried on by his sons. Had the following children: Mrs. Lena Ferullo; Ernest, married to Angiolina De Sisto; James, married to Lillian Duarte; Frank, married to Mollie Buck; Anthony F., Mrs. Mary Pettuccelli; Mrs. Emma Hinckler, graduate of West- brook Normal School in Maine; Edith, also graduate of Westbrook Normal School; and Albert married to Matilda Brock. All of the children are high school graduates and the boys are all associated in the G. Giovino & Co. Res .: Woodland Road, Jamaica Plain.


GIOVINO, ANTONIO-Proprietor, Giovino's Meat Market, 2316 Mass. Ave., No. Cambridge. Born Taurasi, Avellino, Italy, July 12, 1900. Son of Raffaele Giovino and Pasqualina Camusa. Attended public schools in Italy. Veteran Italian Army, World War I. Came to U. S. in 1923. In business since 1932. Married Maria Pascucci of Norwich, Conn., Dec. 19, 1932. Children: Ralph, Rose, Theresa, Anthony and Marie Elaine. Mr. Giovino is member and venerable in the Order Sons of Italy of Cam- bridge. Fond of hunting, fishing, travel and grand opera. His father, who visited America 1920-23, had the following children: late Theresa; Antonio; Clementina; Emilia; Luigi, and Michele. Res: 61 Norris St., North Cambridge.
