CARANDO, PETER F .- Manufacturer of Italian Style pork products. Born Mazze Caravise, Torino, Italy, Nov. 25, 1902. Son of Joseph Carando and Rosa Paila. Educated in the public schools of his native town, where as cattle dealer, he studied various methods of food processing. In America since 1923. Manufacturer of Italian style pork products in Springfield since 1933, being the largest of its kind in the city. In 1936 he went to Italy, where he acquired different formulas from number of salami factories, which have made him outstanding in that field in this part of the state. Served in the Canadian Forces World War I, with Black Wach Highlanders, and took part in numerous major battles in Belgium. Married Josephine Di Mauro of Hudson, Dec. 15, 1919. CARBONE, ANGELO V .- Proprietor of Carbone Cafe, 75 Dorchester St., Gloucester. Born Lawrence, Aug. 10, 1913. Son of Salvatore Carbonaro and Lilla Viola. Educated in the public schools of Messina, Italy. Came to America in 1905 settling in Boston. In business since 1932. Formerly in the service of L. G. Barnes Co., as circus man. Played in all the biggest fairs throughout the U. S. and Canada. Associated with him was his midget brother, Nunzio Carbone, known as "Prince Napoleon." They were considered most outstanding in the carnival show world, circus and vaude- ville. Later was for 15 years engaged in music and furniture business. Mrs. Robin- son's own education equips her for this work as she is the product of Carl Stasney, Karl Baermann and Heinrich Gehhard all internationally famous. Miss Carbone has been teaching piano since 1940. Member of Mrs. Robinson's artist's class. Fond of golf, tennis, travel. Winner of many cups and trophies as an excellent bowler. Helped her late father to establish above business. Treasurer since 1937. Has sung in musical productions. Soloist at St. Anthony's church. Fond of art, music and dramatics. Her father was born in San Valentino Torio, Salerno, Italy. Came to U. S. in 1890 settling in Somerville, where he engaged in retail grocery business and S. S. Ticket Agency. In 1920 he established wholesale and importing business, now carried on by his children. He was one of the finest and best known businessmen in Somer- ville and took deep interest in civic and welfare activities. Aided in the building of the Italian church and a Home for Italian children in Boston. Died in 1937. Educated in the public school of his native town. Came to America in 1920. In the barber business in Brockton since 1937. Married Antoinette Traino of Syracuse, N. Y., Sept. 16, 1934. She was born Dec. 4, 1914. Mr. Carchidi is member of Journeymen Barbers Assoc., and Young Calabria Society. Fond of woodworking and travel. Is a former musician and plays the Ukelelee and the Hawaiian Guitar. Has the following brothers: Antonio, Domenico, Giuseppe and Francesco. CARDARELLI, ASCANIO - Merchant, Tailor. Born Civitanova del Sannio, Campobasso, Italy, August 8, 1883. Son of Angelo Cardarelli and Concetta Antonetti. Educated in the public schools and under private tutors. Studied the art of designing in Naples. Came to America in 1902 settling in Boston, where he learned tailoring. In business since 1929. Formerly a designer of Men's clothing for L. P. Hollander Co., for 10 years. Married Mabel Cappuccio of Boston (who posseses a fine soprano voice), April 25, 1917. Children Arnold Joseph, a student at M. I. T. and Carnegie Tech., now officer in U. S. Army, and Gloria C. Mr. Cardarelli is fond of baseball, travelling and a lover of music. CARDARELLI, CONSTANTINO-Custom Tailor. Born San Donato Val di Comino, Frosinone, Italy, Nov. 18, 1893. Son of Antonio Cardarelli and Antonia Mariani. Learned the trade of custom tailoring in Rome. Served in the Italian Army World War I. Came to America in 1920 settling in Quincy. In the service of Remick's Store alteration dept. since 1940. Formerly in business for himself and with Faber Co., of Boston. Married Adalgisa Sadori of Rome, Italy, Nov. 28, 1920. Children: Antonio, born April 3, 1922, a graduate of Quincy High, now in U. S. Army over- seas; Julia, born Sept. 1, 1924, a graduate of Quincy High; Ester, born Sept. 12, 1925, also a graduate of Quincy High, and Ugo, born Jan. 13, 1931, is a student. Member: Quincy Adams Club and Italian Mutual Aid Society. Has the following sisters: Mrs. Cesidia Gallo of Quincy; Mrs. Gerarda Cardarelli, both of San Donato, Italy. Res .: 119 South St., Quincy.
