In 1901 he opened in Boston a small meat market which he developed into the largest market in the world, known as "Upham's Corner Market," which he sold in 1928. Mar- ried Lucy Piccozzi of Greenport, Long Island, N. Y., July 5, 1920. Children: Joseph, attended North Attleboro High and Gaviani Accordion School in Boston, is accordion teacher and veteran U. S. Army in Europe, awarded several battle stars, now continuing his musical studies at the New Eng- land Conservatory of Music; Marie Angela, graduate North Attleboro High, (scholarship) and Bryant and Stratton Commercial School; Sylvia B., is student at St. Mary's Parochial School. Mr. Cilli is member of K. of C. and has held offices in the Order Sons of Italy. Hobby, playing ac- cordion and mandolin. CIMETTA ANGELO-Manager, Union Tavern of Boston .. Born Navelli, Aquila, Italy, Dec. 19, 1896. Son of Carmine Cimetta and Maddalena Torlone. Educated in public schools of his native town. Came to U. S. A. in 1909 settling in Boston. In tavern business since 1933. Formerly in the express business for ten years. In 1914 he enlisted in the U. S. Army, First Division, 6th Field Artillery, Battery C. Sent to Mexico after Pancho Villa, later with A.E.F. overseas for 28 months. Wounded six times. Deco- rated by France and Italy. Awarded citation for bravery by U. S. Presi- dent. Member of American Legion; the V.F.W. and B P.O.E. Married Anna Rippucci of Boston, Sept. 6, 1931. Children: Carmine, Joseph, Angelo, Jr., and Madeline. Mr. Cimetta is fond of baseball football hockey. A lover of travel and music. His father came to U. S. A. in 1895 settled in Boston. In the general contracting business for over 30 years.
