Educated in the public schools in Italy. Came to America in 1913, settling in Leominster. Served in U. S. Army during World War I, and saw service in France for 18 months. With Foster Grant Co. since 1936. Married Mary Julian of Leominster, July 3, 1920, a graduate of Leominster High School and of Fitchburg State Teachers College. Teacher at Bennett School since 1922, being the pioneer American of Italian descent to teach in the Leominster Public Schools. One daughter, Marcia Ann, born July 1, 1932. MORCONE, CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS - Clerk, Railway Express Agency. Born Milford, Oct. 12, 1912. Son of Joseph Morcone and Gio- vannina De Simone. Graduated from Milford High in 1930, was member varsity baseball team, captain for a year, treasurer of his class and vice- president of the athletic association. Graduated from Hempton School for Boys in 1931, and from Dean Academy in 1932. Attended Simpson College 1933-34. Participated in all of the above school sports. Graduated from High School of Commerce in 1927. In the service of Western Union since 1922. Married Alice Girard of Chicopee, March 2, 1933. Mr. Morini is president of Union and Brother- hood Italian Lodge 221 of Columbian Federation; vice-president of Local 52, Commercial Telegraphers Assoc., of A. F. of L. Vice-president of Mass. Columbian Federation. Deeply interested in civic affairs and con- tributes his time freely to worthy causes. His father was born in Ro- becco, Pavia, Italy. Came to America in 1906, settling in Springfield, in the employ of the city for 40 years. Had following children: Ettore, Guido, Ida, Frank and Virginia. Res .: 59 Central St., Springfield.


MOROSINI, LOUIS-Businessman. Born Vaccaresa, Genoa, Italy, Feb. 21, 1877. Son of John Morosini and Maria Rebozio. Educated in the public schools of his native town. Came to America in 1900, settling in Boston. In the retail fruit and grocery business since 1908, being the pioneer Italian American of Mattapan to enter that field. Married Rosa Marciano of Boston. Children: Mildred, a graduate of Simmons College, married to Roderick Esker, a graduate of M. I. T., a noted chemist, now manager of U. S. Chemical plant; John, a graduate of Boston University; and Rose, a graduate of Notre Dame Academy. Mr. Morosini is charter member of the K. of C., Mattapan Council; and charter member of Italian American Citizens' Club of Milton and Mattapan. Bus .: 1629 Blue Hill Ave., Mattapan. MORTONE, HENRY ANDREW-Businessman. Born Marcianise, Na- ples, Italy, Jan. 9, 1890. Son of Gaetano Mortone and Angela Buccini. Educated in public schools of Genoa, Italy. Came to America in 1906, settling in Springfield. In business since 1937. Proprietor of Winchester Shoe Rebuilding Co., 7871/2 State St. Formerly in charge of Shoe Re- pairing Dept. at Steiger Dept Store for 20 years. Married Ida Legittime of Naples, Italy, Nov. 11, 1921. Children: Angela, a graduate of Classical High; Gaetano, a graduate of Technical High; and Mario, a student. Member: Columbus Country Club; Order Sons of Italy, and its first supreme delegate from Western Mass. Helped to unite the two lodges- the Bersaglieri and Lega Protettiva into one club. Has a sister Mrs. Francesca Romano. Mr. Mortone's mother was niece to the famous sculp- tor, Onofrio Buccini of Naples, the prize winner of French Academy of Arts.
