Lived in New Britain, Conn. later in Cambridge, where he died in 1930. Mother a native of the vicinity of Genoa, came to U. S. in 1852 settling in Boston. Her sister Rose Reggio was the first American of Italian descent public school teacher in Boston. She retired after 50 years of service as principal of one of the schools. Came to America in 1886, was among pioneer Italian American settlers of Cambridge. Mother, native of Genoa, Italy. GRECKO, EDNA TERESA-Teacher, High School of Commerce. Born Worcester, June 27, 1908. Daughter of James Grecko (Grieco) and Mar- cellina Borella. Graduated from Classical High School in 1926 and College of New Rochelle in 1930, A.B. Special studies in Inter-University Institute of Siena, Italy, 1931-32 and at Ravenna, Italy; Columbia' University in 1935, M.A .; Middlebury College and Clark University. Teacher in the Worcester High School of Commerce since 1938. Formerly teacher at the New Rochelle Jr. and High School. Miss Grecko is the first teacher of Italian in the Worcester schools. Member of Mass. and Worcester Teachers Associations. Has travelled extensively in U. S., Panama, Italy, Greece, Syria, Palestine, Egypt and North Africa. Her father was born in San Fele, Potenza, Italy. Came to America in 1888 settling in Worcester, where he was proprietor of N. E. Hotel for number of years and Rialto Theatre for 20 years. Had the following children: Rosa Louise, married to Arthur MacBride Love of Wellesley Hills; and Edna Teresa of this sketch. Res .: 1002 Pleasant St., Worcester.


GREGORIO, ANGELO MICHELE-General contractor. Born Castel- franci, Avellino, Italy, March 8, 1893. Attended public school in his native town. Came to America in 1910 settling in Wakefield. In business since 1925. Married Maria Carmela Di Gennaro May 2, 1915. Children: Francis, is associated with his father in contracting business; Mary M., is married to Antonio Lepore; Samuel, is U. S. Navy radio man; Carmine, is in U. S. Army; John A., is U. S. Navy yard employee; all of whom are grad- uates of Wakefield High School; Alfred and Marie are twins; and Henry. Graduated from Avon High School in 1931 with high honors and pro-merit awards, member varsity baseball team; Bridge- water Teachers College in 1935, B.S. in Ed. Instructor at Rockland High since 1943. Formerly teacher at Avon High School. Married Mary B. Ricci of Randolph Oct. 10, 1937. One son Constantine, born June 17, 1939. Member: Mass. Teachers Assn., Rockland Teachers Assn., Bridgewater T. C. Alumni Assn., and Rationing Board. Coached baseball, football and basket- ball in high school and played on semi-professional teams. His father was born in Anzano, Foggia, Italy. Came to U. S. in 1890 settling in Boston, later in Avon, is first class machinist at Boston Navy Yard. Had the fol- lowing children: Mary, married to Joseph King, teacher at Franklin, N. H.
