In 1893 he returned to Italy, where on Oct. 28, 1895, he married Nicolina Maggi, and together came to U. S. in 1896, settling in Quincy, engaged in the granite field. Two of the crew, Vincent Amato and Rosario Di Giorgio, perished, the others, Mr. Tarantino, Ralph Polsi, Ralio Polsi and Battista Menafo were saved, after swimming over a mile in the roughest sea to shore. Ordained in 1938 by Cardinal Ralph Rossi, secretary of Sacred Congregation Consistory. Came to America in May 1939, settling in Bos- ton, where he has since been ass't pastor of Sacred Heart Church. This church is one of the churches founded by the Scalabrini Fathers, dedi- cated to the welfare of the Italians. Father Tardivo is deeply interested in youth activities of the parish. Mrs. Tazzini is active in civic affairs and deeply interested in the welfare of her community. TEBALDI, PASQUALE-Born Fano, Pesaro, Italy, April 13, 1887. Son of Pietro Tebaldi and Teresa Gasparoni. He grew up under such poverty, that his father had to borrow $40 to finance his trip to U. S. In 1905 he settled in Ludlow, pennyless, and alone. He soon found a job as laborer with Ludlow Mfg. Co. Lived in a shanty for three years and helped to sup- port his parents in Italy. Mr. Tebaldi began his career by buying his first cement block machine for nine dollars. Began his cement block industry in a small way, which soon grew to be one of the largest in New England. He became known as the Cement Block King. In 1916 he purchased for $10,000 twenty-two lots on two years option and in one year he built 22 two-family houses. Today Mr. Tebaldi is the largest real estate owner in Western part of Mass., president and treasurer of five real estate corpora- tions. Married Angelina Mariani of Mondolfo, Pesaro, Italy, Oct. 28, 1908. Children: Iolanda, married to Massimo Giordano; Anna, married to Leo Canegallo; Jerry, serving in U. S. Army. Recently Mr. Tebaldi turned his excavation industry and building contract business to his son-in-law, Leo Canegallo, who carries on. Through all these years of hardship Mr. Tebaldi never lost courage and today, altho still young, enjoys the fruits of his labor. Member: Elks and Italian Social Club. Fond of travel and music. Has two brothers, Anthony and Michael, and two sisters, Lucia, married to Fred Riccardi and Maria, married to Giovanni Zingarini in Italy. Res .: 11 Densley Rd., Indian Orchard. S. when a year old, settling in Plymouth, where he attended public schools. Served in U. S. Army World War I. In business since 1920. Married Adelaide Guidoboni of Plymouth, Sept. 27, 1919, a native of Casumaro, Italy. Children: William A., born March 6, 1920, a graduate of Plymouth High and of Boston Uni- versity, is a high school teacher and a musician, veteran U. S. Army; Robert C., born April 15, 1922, a graduate of Plymouth High School, is ensign in U. S. Navy; and Alfred A., born June 12, 1935, is student. Mr. Tedeschi is member of American Legion, Plymouth Mutual Aid Society and Amerigo Vespucci Club. Fond of hunting, fishing, travel and music. His father, who came to U. S. in 1897, settled in Plymouth. Had following children: Amedeo A., Mrs. Mary Maccaferri, and Mrs. Delia Maccaferri. Res .: 299 Court St., Plymouth.
